Winemaker Notes
Viticulture Notes
The grapes for our Chardonnay were membrane pressed and cold settled before fermentation in upright stainless steel tanks at a maximum temperature of 68°F. The juice was racked before undergoing partial sur lie aging. A portion of this Chardonnay completed malolactic fermentation to round out the wine and give it a creamy mouthfeel.
We’ve been crafting irresistible Chardonnays for 160 years. The fruit for our 2014 Chardonnay was selected from some of the standout Central Coast growing regions, including Monterey County, San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County. Together, grapes from these three regions create a vibrant, layered wine whose juicy fruit flavors evoke a modern Central Coast spirit.
